What’s this about?
This is Peter and Maureen Scargill's Spanish website. We live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarity, that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for more than 14 years and it is now our permanent base though we retain a small home in the UK.

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

A relaxing weekend in and around Granada

After a busy couple of weeks between guests and setting up a new PC etc., we drove to Granada on Friday and spent a few hours in the city centre doing the usual Nevada shopping centre trip followed by the Medina and finally dinner by the Cathedral before having an early night then dropping my sister in law off at Granada Airport at 7am this morning for her long trip to Chicago via Madrid.

We’re staying at apartment Casa Tia Maria, Acequias, a few km south of Durcal, 30km South of Granada and we’ve spent the day touring around the mountains. Our little village is nice but for the odd noisy dog (I blame thoughtless owners) and neither a pub nor even a cafe in sight.

The weather, meanwhile is stunning.
