What’s this about?
This is the Spanish website for Peter and Maureen Scargill. When in Spain we live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarify that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for more than 14 years and right now it is pretty much our permanent base though we retain a small home in the UK.

If you're familiar with what3words (if you're not now you soon will be) we live at dossier.bath.sawn

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

First Lovely Day of the Summer of 2022

Galera town square in the sun

A lovely day in Galera town centre today – nice and quiet – no doubt hoards of tourists will arrive soon enough now that Covid masks are no longer a thing (other than when using public transport). Still a tad cool OUT of the sun, but lovely and warm in it.

Pavo Acietuna Negra (very thin turkey with black olives)...

Nice to see that the clean-up operation seems to have restored the buildings opposite the cafe and post office.

Meanwhile I’ve discovered a new lunch-meat variation with olives – lovely. I’m just hoping we can get it locally.

It’s a Bank holiday here in Spain right now so almost everything except for cafes and bars is closed – so sitting eating and drinking seems like the right thing to do. I was up at the crack of dawn, doing a technical write-up of my broadband progress – see next entry.

Lots and lots of work to do around the place as we have friends coming to visit soon as the summer starts up in earnest.
