What’s this about?
This is Peter and Maureen Scargill's Spanish website. We live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarity, that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for more than 14 years and it is now our permanent base though we retain a small home in the UK.

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

Temperature

I could not tell you how many times Maureen and I have looked at the weather forecasts for Galera only to see that they are WRONG. This Sunday was going to be cloudy and raining. It was clear blue skies and sunny.

external temperatureSo – a first ever for here… remote from the UK where we’re now enjoying sunshine… the temperature in Galera, Spain!  It’s now early afternoon, it was 33 degrees this morning in Galera, it peaked (in the shade) at 35 – and it’s currently 34.

INSIDE the cave is another matter… it’s been 21/22 degrees all day inside (blinds closed all but for one).

So there you have it – accurate info – and according to the webcam, the sun is blasting down!
