What’s this about?
This is Peter and Maureen Scargill's Spanish website. We live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarity, that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for more than 14 years and it is now our permanent base though we retain a small home in the UK.

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

Working and Relaxing with Friends in Spain – August 2020

Not a bar we normally visit, Cafe El Cruce is on the edge of Galera and the atmosphere in there has recently improved as you can probably see in the panorama below.

Meanwhile in-between the odd (careful) day-trip out with various friends in the scorching summer heat including the odd rip to the one still-available lake in the area (thanks, Covid and those who help spread it), Maureen has been working on the house and garden and I’ve been upgrading our home control. Too hot in August to do much physical work outside.

Electronics growing on trees in the garden 🙂 – I’ve been writing lots of reviews during these restrictive times – no chance of getting bored here.

Below, slightly out of date panorama as we’ve had the broadband dish moved to free up wall space on the main building (left).
