What’s this about?
This is Peter and Maureen Scargill's Spanish website. We live in Galera in Andalusia (for clarity, that is the English spelling - Mid-Spain they spell it Andalucia and pronounce it "And-a-loo-thee-a").

We've had a home in Spain for more than 14 years and it is now our permanent base though we retain a small home in the UK.

Find out more about this by reading through the blog entries, menu-accessible pages and archives if you're interested! Welcome to Peter and Maureen's Spanish website.

No-where I’d rather be

Up bright and early this morning to put the fire on just to add a couple of degrees.

It’s cool outside here in Galera, but the skies are crystal clear.  Hopefully by 11am or so it’ll be nice enough to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Last night I was jealously eyeing up our neighbours pellet heater, a very high-tech device that takes small pellets of fuel (£3.50 a large bag good enough for perhaps a couple of days), starts automatically and gives out a frightening amount of heat, controllable over the Internet (though he’s not set that up) and generates no smoke, no internal fumes… and yet has the nice flame glow of a fire… magic.  Not that it’ll be doing much business here for a while as you can see by the weather forecast.
